Get Weird: George Condo Costume Contest with Performance by Naked On The Vague
April 14 2011
Dress up as your favorite George Condo painting! The best costume wins a special prize package including a copy of the exhibition catalogue autographed by George Condo, a New Museum Membership and a Naked On The Vague T-shirt! Costumes will be judged by Massimiliano Gioni, Director of Exhibitions for the New Museum.

One of Australia’s most disconcerting and haunted bands, Naked On The Vague use fragmented psychedelic music to reach the same antipodal states as George Condo’s paintings. Their songs delve into the madness of everyday life, exploring the mutant cityscape and its malnourished citizens. On the eve of a national tour with Zola Jesus, Members of Naked On The Vague will perform a one-off concert inspired by the madness and frightening psychological states portrayed in Condo’s paintings. This exclusive set written especially for this performance will recall the band’s most textured ambient material, built from alien noises, heavy synthesizer tones, and alienating landscapes.

All costumed attendees will receive a set of limited-edition George Condo buttons. The best costume will be awarded a prize package courtesy of the New Museum and Naked On The Vague.
