For this book, Mr. Schoonmaker has assembled an impressive group of Fela scholars who approach his life and work from various perspectives and make the clear case that Fela gave voice to political disenchantment while providing a vision for the future based on innovative form built on an amalgamation of the traditional and the contemporary.” -Lisa Phillips, p. 7.
