New York Foundation for the Arts Video Fellows 1985
February 1 – March 30 1986
From February 1 to March 30, 1985, the New Museum presented works by the 1985 New York Foundation for the Arts Video Fellows as part of its On View program. Shown in the New Work Gallery, this exhibition featured continuous screenings of videotapes by several artists, including Richard Bloes, Maxi Cohen, Dee Dee Halleck, Jill Kroesen, Shigeko Kubota, Michael Marton, and Matthew Schlanger.

The On View program was envisioned as a forum for emerging artists to present small thematic exhibitions and video works for approximately three weeks at a time. This flexible format enabled curators to respond to the constantly changing focus of contemporary art, and to present new works to the public directly from artists’ studios.
