Neil Beloufa: Kempinski
May 12 – July 15 2011
Selected Dates May 12–July 15
Shot in Mali, Neil Beloufa’s Kempinski (2007) is a science fiction documentary featuring interviews with local inhabitants as they imagine their visions of the future. Through a series of striking tableaux, Beloufa captures a sense of vertigo and unease by adeptly interweaving fantasy with reality. Algerian and French, Beloufa was born 1985 in Paris. This will be his first presentation in a US museum.
Neil Beloufa’s Kempinski is the first presentation in the “Stowaways” series—a constellation of episodic projects and spontaneous interventions in spaces throughout the New Museum.
Neil Beloufa’s Kempinski and David Medalla’s Cloud Canyon no. 14 are the first presentations in the “Stowaways” series—a constellation of episodic projects and spontaneous interventions in spaces throughout the New Museum.
