In 2010, The Armory Show, America’s leading fine art fair devoted to the most important art of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries, highlighted the Lower East Side as a top destination for Contemporary art. Organized by The Armory Show during Armory Arts Week, an annual destination for artists, galleries, collectors, critics, and curators from all over the world, guided tours led by art world professionals traversed Lower East Side galleries, starting from the New Museum’s lobby. Self-guided tours with a neighborhood map were also available.
