New Museum First Saturdays for Families: Apichatpong Weerasethakul
June 4 2011
Some contemporary artists, like Apichatpong Weerasethakul, create films that recall personal memories, as well as important events from the world around them. Explore the exhibition “Apichatpong Weerasethakul: Primitive”— which includes a multi-platform installation of seven videos and related work by the internationally acclaimed filmmaker Apichatpong Weerasethakul. The show blends the artist’s personal experiences with political stories and folklore of his native Thailand. Families will have the opportunity to record their own cherished memories and stories as they create flipbooks and storyboards to take home!
New Museum First Saturdays for Families are free of charge. This program is designed and recommended for families with children four to fifteen years old, and includes free New Museum admission for up to two adults per family. Children under eighteen are always admitted free.
