In this New York museum debut, international artists Teresita Fernandez, Nedko Solakov, and Hale Tenger used installation techniques that inventively transform visitors’ visual perceptions of space. Fernandez, an artist living in Miami, drew grids on walls embedded with tall reflective glass panels; Solakov, who lives and works in Bulgaria, covered a room with flowered wallpaper, then doodles decorative motifs into the margins; and Tenger, an artist based in Istanbul, built on recent work that involved creating concentric ‘zones’ of passage where visitors could experience tactile sensations.
