Gerard & Kelly, Workshop as Work: Reusable Parts/Endless Love

December 7 2014

Part of the Fall 2014 R&D Season: CHOREOGRAPHY

In a workshop open to public view, Gerard & Kelly transmit a score for their 2011 work to this year’s participants in the New Museum’s Experimental Study Program (ESP) for teens. In Reusable Parts/Endless Love, a rotating cast of dancers transforms the instructions for a kiss between a man and a woman into a machine-like production of unscripted representations of intimacy. Commissioned by Danspace Project at St. Mark’s Church and included in the recent “Made in L.A. 2014” biennial at the Hammer Museum, Los Angeles, the work will be reformatted as a public workshop in the New Museum Theater.

The workshop will take place over the entire three hours. Entry in the Theater will be timed for 3 p.m., 4 p.m., and 5 p.m. Admission is free, however, timed-entry tickets are required and may be picked up at Visitor Services. No late seating permitted.
